The Minister of State, Minister of Economy, Industry and Public Portfolio, Gilbert Ondongo presided on Tuesday, November 21, 2017, a meeting on the industrialization of Congo attended by Gislaine Olga Ingrid Eboucka Babackas, Minister in charge of the planning.
The various interventions emphasized the interest of industrialization as one of the pillars of the diversification of Congo's economy. Thus, the government, through the supervisory ministry seeks to endow the country with an industrialization strategy whose main lines were defined in 2009, in the society project of President Denis Sassou-N'Guesso, "The Way Forward". The chosen option is the so-called structuring industries approach to be implemented in the different departments, taking into account the proven potential of each of them. And this, through the acquisitions of equity in companies and active research of domestic and foreign investors. This option favors the development of industries that drive the dynamics of integration within a sector, thus favoring the emergence of this sector.
It appears that in an underdeveloped country like Congo, the bases of industrialization are almost the same as those of the development in general of the country. These include funding, human capital, business climate, private sector involvement, basic infrastructure.
